Sailing ships are a passion

Since my earliest childhood I have been fascinated by ships, especially sailing ships, old sailing ships. The first model ship was built in the kindergarden time from Lego. Later it was plastic models and today the ships are made of wood. Early on I devoured books about sailing ships. The few books of my youth have now become almost half a library. By the membership in the Germany-wide association "Arbeitskreis historischer Schiffbau e.V.", as a member in the largest German-language shipbuilding forum “segelschiffmodellbau.com” and in further maritime Internet forums I could become acquainted with many like-minded people and continuously extend my knowledge. Many common meetings, special events, model building exhibitions and fairs represent a large enrichment. Meeting like-minded people is always a great experience. Beyond books and models I make my experience with ships, especially sailing ships. I have been an active sailor for over 25 years. Be it simply having fun with a small catamaran, windsurfing or as a cruising sailor on lakes and seas. My wife and children are also happy to be there. Thus the active and practical experience of sailing is beautifully combined with the theory from the books and models.
